Create Location Task

The article will explain how to create a location task.

Users having 'Create' permission on 'Location Tasks' form type (for Field Tab) on selected project can create location task forms on Asite.

Field administrators need to do required project configuration to be able to raise a location task form which includes configuring 'Location Tasks' form, adding location and sub locations, adding PDF drawing plan and calibrating locations as required. Below is a description of the available fields while creating a location task form:

  1. Recently Created Location Task - Select a recently created location task form to copy its details and then edit as required to create a new location task form.

  2. Task Title - Enter a title for the location task form you are creating.

  3. Task Type - Select a type for the location task form you are creating.
    The values for this dropdown can be managed by creating a dropdown attribute with the name 'Task Type' using configurable attributes,

  4. Workpackage - Select a workpackage for the location task form you are creating.
    The values for this dropdown can be managed as part of defect types.

  5. Location - Select a project location for the location task form you are creating. If you have already selected location within the app, the location will be automatically populated and cannot be changed.

  6. Description - Enter a description for the location task form you are creating.

  7. Start Date - Select a start date for the location task form you are creating, by tapping on calendar icon.

  8. Due Date - Select a due date for the location task form you are creating, by tapping on calendar icon.

  9. Assign To - Select a user for assigning this particular location task form.

  10. Images - Attach single or multiple images as required to the location task form you are creating. You can take a new picture using your device camera, select a picture from your device photo gallery or select an image file using the file explorer option on your device.

Available Image Markup Options:

Freehand Pencil

Draw, circle, or highlight areas to draw attention.

Date & Timestamp

Add the date and time to images to indicate when the photo was taken.

Textbox

Insert text boxes to add descriptions, notes, or instructions.

Rectangle / Square

Draw boxes around objects to mark or highlight specific areas.

Arrow

Add arrows to emphasise details in the image.

Undo / Redo

Reverse or repeat the most recent annotation actions.

Colour Picker

Choose colours for lines, shapes, and text.

Eraser

Remove selected annotations created during the markup session.

Clear All

Remove all annotations from the image.

Delete

Delete the image.


Depending on the related form configuration, you can have additional options available at the top:

  1. Location pin icon - To select location (in case it is not already selected) for the location task form you are creating.

  2. Distribute icon - To distribute the location task form you are creating. Tap here to understand how to distribute a form.

  3. Attachment icon - To attach external files to the location task form you are creating. Tap here to understand how to attach files to a form.

  4. More Options:

    1. Associate Docs - To associate existing files accessible to you on Asite, to the location task form you are creating. Tap here to understand how to associate files to a form.

    2. Associate aMessages - To associate existing file aMessages accessible to you on Asite, to the location task form you are creating. Tap here to understand how to associate aMessages to a form.

    3. Associate Apps - To associate existing forms accessible to you on Asite, to the location task form you are creating. Tap here to understand how to associate other forms to a form.

Once you have entered the necessary details, tap 'Send' to complete creating the location task form.

In case you need to save all content as a draft for the time being and send it later, tap 'Save Draft'.

If you don't need to save any of the changes you made, tap 'Cancel' to go back to the previous screen. In that case, a prompt message will appear to ensure that you get a chance to decide what to do with the unsaved form data, if any.
