Asite Field allows users to continue working even when internet connectivity is unavailable. This is especially useful for remote site locations where network access is limited or unreliable.
While offline, users can:
Raise and complete forms.
Attach previously downloaded files.
Capture data on-site.
Sync all updates automatically once reconnected.
NOTE: If a Quality Test Plan is marked as Inactive while a user is working offline on that Plan, the data that was entered after or any newly added files/forms/tasks will not be synced and will be lost forever.
Understanding How Offline Mode Works
Asite Field supports two broad categories of forms:
Site Tasks (Snagging) |
Automatically included with your Field subscription. |
Must be enabled for offline use in App Settings on CDE. |
Do not need to be downloaded manually. |
Custom AppBuilder Forms |
Must be downloaded manually before going offline. |
Must be enabled for offline use in App Settings on CDE. |
Cannot be downloaded if the template is an .xsm form. This will show the error: "This form type is not supported to take offline". |
To work offline, you must also download:
Your Location Structure (mandatory).
Any files you want to link to your forms.
NOTE: You must be online in the Field app to download.
What is the Location Structure?
The Location Structure represents the physical layout of your project and includes buildings, floors and rooms.
You must download it before going offline because:
All offline form creation is location-based.
You cannot raise forms offline until the structure is available locally.
